CCA-initiated VIAs

Ribbon Dancing with TOUCH community seniors

Our dancers recently had the privilege of teaching ribbon dance to seniors from TOUCH community services for one of our VIA sessions. With patience and care, we introduced basic ribbon dance and choreography that the seniors learnt with open hearts and bright smiles. This experience was a way we could introduce dance to them and integrating dance into their daily lives. We explored how simple movements could be used for gentle exercise or self expression. Following the ribbon dance, we shared a series of physical and mental games like balloon volleyball and board games. From fun coordination challenges to memory and focus activities, the day was filled with laughter, learning, and a renewed sense of humility. This intergenerational exchange reminded us all that dance is for every age and that movement, no matter how big or small, brings life and connection into our everyday routines.
